Welcoming a newborn baby into the family is one of the happiest and most exciting time of your life! Newborn sessions are scheduled in our beautiful Mount Olive NJ photography studio within the first few weeks of birth. The studio is stocked with beautiful props, gorgeous organic outfits, headbands, bonnets and accessories to perfectly compliment your newborn while focusing on your baby’s portrait.

FAQs
When is the best time to capture newborn photos?
Newborn portrait sessions take place between 8-21 days and penciled in as a tentative around your due date. Newborn can arrive early or late, and date penciled is flexible.
Can I have my newborn baby photographed after 2 weeks old?
The answer is absolutely! We have photographed newborn as old as 8 weeks, and they have slept through their session. We have had great success at creating timeless images of older newborns. Although, we don’t recommend waiting until your baby is that much older. Newborns older than 2 weeks are not as curly in some poses, but yet they are still very new to capture. If you’ve had your baby, and are looking through our website, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
What should I look for in a newborn photographer?
The most important thing is to look through their portfolio for certain criteria:
- Look for pictures that are classic and timeless (these portraits will hopefully be a Heirloom that transcend generations)
- The baby should be the focus of the images. (when looking through the photos, ask yourself, “what is the first thing I notice?”) Is your attention on how precious the baby is, or how distracting the scene of the photo is?
- The baby should look comfortable, relaxed and peaceful in the images. As in all portraits, the facial expression is very important. Newborns are so flexible and can be put into all kinds of amazing position in their first couple of weeks of life. A skilled photographer will be able to pose baby tucked with their feet up by their chin (taco pose) accompanied with a content sleepy, even sometimes smiling face.
How long have you been photographing newborns?
Silveira’s Touch photography have been photographing newborns since 2010, and have trained with some of the top newborn photographers in the world. The highest level of professionalism and care is applied in posing and handling babies. (Parents rave about the patience with their babies, and that they’ve found the baby whisperer.)
When is the best time to book?
We recommend reserving your newborn portraits when entering your second trimester to guarantee a spot in my schedule. Last minute bookings are never guaranteed. I typically book anywhere from 2-3 months in advance.
What should we wear for our newborn session?
We like to photograph newborns in their natural state! A space heater to make sure they are nice and warm is provided. Hats and blankets with interesting textures and colors make for great portraits. We will also have a large selection of adorable accessories like bows, hats, outfits, baskets/bowls and wraps for you to choose. Parents of newborns should wear a solid color top. Also be prepared to do some skin on skin shots if you are up for it!
How do I view my photos after the shoot?
About two weeks after your session, you’ll meet with Sandy to view your images and make all of your final selections of your favorite digitals and/or products. Approximately 4 weeks after placing your order, wall art/albums products are delivered.
Do you offer in home sessions?
I book a limited amount of clients a month, including in home newborn sessions a month. add $150 for in home sessions.
